Aircraft hit by flak. In error, crew landed the Welli at a German held aerodrome in France and all made POW.Gage was killed when his POW column (being force-marched retreating from the allies' advance) was strafed by a RAF Typhoon ground-attack fighter. He was buried at Berlin1939-1945 War Cemetery, Germany.
