1917-08-29: 2Lt in RFC1918-09-27: Bennett and his air-gunner Norman William Helwig (Canadian) were shot down north-west of Sancourt after a bombing raid, and both made POW.Bennett was wounded and repatriated 1918-12-19 in poor health and sent to hospital where he was, off and on until 1921. He remained in England after the war.
