It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. Bowman was wounded in action twice before being killed when his RE-8 (A3847) was shot down by Manfred von Richthofen, The wings of his aircraft broke off and the wreckage fell burning to the ground between the trenches near Le Bizet. His body was not recovered.
