408 Goose Squadron (For Freedom) RAF Balderton. Hampden I aircraft AT 176 EQ-A failed to return from a mine- laying operation in the Frisian Islands area. The Hampden was shot down by a night fighter and crashed into the North Sea north of Terschelling Island
