48 Squadron (Forte Et Fidele). Dakota aircraft KG 417 was engaged in a supply operation when it crashed at an isolated site eight miles south-west of Arnhem, Holland. One Canadian, Flying Officer J.W. Erickson, two of the crew, not Canadians, and four British Army personnel were also killed.
