69 Squadron (With Vigilance We Serve). Lancaster aircraft JA 892 went down near Griefswald, Germany during a night attack against the V1 and V2 rocket sites at Peenemunde, Germany. One crew member, not Canadian, was also killed and five of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Addendum: Sgt. D.
