It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. 158 Squadron RAF (Strength In Unity) RAF East Moor. Halifax BII aircraft W7753 NP-T failed to return from a night sortie over Duisburg, Germany. The Halifax was coned by the 1/Flakscheinwerfer-Abteilung 248 and hit by heavy (schwere) Flak and crashed into the rear garden of a house located at the BrauckstraÃŸe & Middelicher StraÃŸe streets in at Gelsenkirchen-Resse, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. There were no survivors from the crew

FS WJ Smart (RCAF), Pilot Officer LE Bradbury (RAFVR), Sergeant RW Brindley (RAAF), Sergeant AJ Fromings (RAFVR), Sergeant EG Kendall (RAFVR), Sergeant RA Petherbridge (RAFVR), Sergeant P Roy (RAF) and Sergeant W Walton (RAFVR) were all killed in action
