9 Squadron (Per Noctem Volamus). Lancaster aircraft W 5006 was shot down, by German Major Dreives flying a ME-110, near Kleeberg, Holland during night operations against Nuremberg, Germany. Flying Officer J.G.R. Ling (RAF), Sergeants L. Moss (RAF) and I. Prada (RAF) were also killed. Three other RAF crew members missing believed killed. This was one of 108 Allied aircraft lost this night.
