158 Squadron (Strength In Unity) RAF East Moor, Halifax BII aircraft DG 227 NP-Q failed to return from operations to Duisburg, Germany. It is believed the aircraft crashed into the North Sea 15 miles SSE of Great Yarmouth, England, cause unknown
Warrant Officer Class 2 GS Robb (RCAF), Sergeant NWS Cantwell (RAFVR), Sergeant EG Dodd (RAF), Sergeant RG Fewtrell (RAFVR), Sergeant a Harkness (RAFVR) and Sergeant WA Maas (RAFVR) were all missing, presumed killed. They have no known grave and are all commemorated on the Runnymede War Memorial
Sergeant C Craft (RAFVR) was killed and the only crew member recovered. He is buried in the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (West Road) Cemetery in England
