It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. 76 Squadron RAF (Resolute) RAF Linton-on-Ouse, Halifax BII aircraft J 800 MP-U missing over enemy territory, shot down by night fighter pilot Leutnant Heinz Bock of the 7/NJG 101, flying a Bf 110 from Echterdingen airfield, Germany

FS FA Robb (RCAF), Flying Officer AN Cooper (RAF), Flying Officer AE Smith (RAFVR), Flying Officer JF Webb (RAF) and FS GC Wright (RAFVR) were killed. Warrant Officer AGC Read (RAFVR) and Sergeant DB Wombwell (RAF) survived to be taken as Prisoner of War. Warrant Officer Read would die as a POW 1945-04-19 when the POW column he was marching in was strafed by allied fighters
