138 Squadron (For Freedom). Halifax aircraft LL 192 failed to return from a supply and secret agent dropping operation over Denmark. One RAAF and five RAF crew members were also killed. A Memorial plaque has been erected at Rebild Hills, Denmark, to the 69 Allied Airmen who were Killed in Action while dropping supplies to the Danish underground forces fighting against the Germans during the occupation of Denmark 1940 - 1945. The inscription reads, "They risked darkness, evil and danger in their fight for freedom and peace. Therefore, we will remember them for all time to come. With Denmark's thankfulness." See McHale T.P.
