90 Squadron (Celer). Stirling I aircraft BF 346 was shot down in the sea off Kiel, Germany. Squadron Leader R.S. May was also killed and five of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Addendum: Stirling aircraft BF 346 (WP-G) was on a minelaying mission. Five RAF members of the crew, Sgt.s B.H. Reeve, N. Marshall, L. Hainin, K.G. Home, and P/O. G.F. Heathcote-Peirson were also killed.
