33 Squadron (Loyalty). Warrant Officer Moher lost his life when his Hurricane aircraft BE 228 was shot down.

Four Bf109s of II./JG27 carried out a reconnaissance flight at 1140 hours meeting twelve Hurricanes of 33 Squadron, which they jumped near Bir-El-Khasa. Oblt Sinner shot down Sergeant Moher in flames, the pilot getting clear but dying later in 2/8 Australian Field Ambulance*.
