97 Squadron (Achieve Your Aim), Pathfinder Force. Target - Horten, Norway. Lancaster aircraft PB 588 was shot down in flames west of Isle of Basta, Norway by a German JU-88 aircraft. F/Ls B.J. Hines (RAF), J. Ray (RAF), Warrant Officer A.J. Marrable (RAF), FS C.W. Palmer (RAF), and Sergeant J.M. Sinclair (RAF) were also killed. One other member of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed.
