149 East India Squadron (Fortis Nocte). Stirling aircraft went missing off the south-west coast of France whilst laying mines. FSs T.H. Short, KS. Gunning, and Sergeant H. Carter (RAF) were also killed. Three others of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Addendum: Three RAF members of the crew, Sgt.s WA, Fairfield, B.D. Allen, and T.A.
