77 Squadron (Esse Potius Quam Videri). Halifax aircraft LL 239 missing from a night trip to Leipzig, Germany. Six of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Addendum: The squadron was based at Elvington when aircraft .L 239-A went missing. The other members of the crew who were also killed were all RAF, they were Sgt.s F.L. Bones, J.L.P. Taylor, and FS.
