76 Squadron (Resolute). The crew of Halifax aircraft NA 584 returned from operations over Kamen, Germany and were flying at 2,500 feet when they were shot up by an enemy night fighter aircraft while in the landing circuit at HoIme on Moor, Yorkshire. The Halifax swung off the runway, due to the port tire being punctured, and collided with a parked aircraft and a steam roller. Pilot Officer Maltby was the only member of the crew hit by the night fighter and was the only casualty.
