76 Squadron (Resolute). Halifax aircraft EB 253 was shot down at Diepholz, Germany during night operations over Hanover, Germany. Six crew members, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Warrant Officer Class II Observer Kerr was buried in the Prisoner of War Section of the City Cemetery at Diepholz.
