625 Squadron (We Avenge). Lancaster aircraft ME 697 missing during a night trip to MaiIly Le Camp, France. Sergeant B. Escritt (RAF), FS W.A.C. Footman (RAF), Flying Officer D.C. Marlin MiD (RAF), and Flying Officer L.F. Medway (RAF) were also killed. Two others of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. addendum 2: See page 364. St. R.W.H. Gray (RAF) was taken Prisoner of War and Sgt. P.J. Evans (RAF) escaped.
