On completion of his flight training Jenner was assigned to the RFC Winter Flight Training Centre at Talliafero Field, Texas, as an instructor. He was in the second seat with Flt. Cadet CA Baker flying when their aircraft was in collision with Flt. Cadet AWW Eden, who was gaining his solo hours in another 'Jenny' when they collided. The two aircraft locked together and fell, inverted, to the ground. All three occupants died in the crash.
