77 Squadron (Esse Potius Quam Videri). Halifax aircraft missing during night operations, presumed over target, presumed enemy action. Five RAF members of the crew, Sgt(s) R.C.,M. Douglas, A. Luke, T. Pearson, R Watson, and J.B. Watt were also killed. One other member of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed. Addendum: The squadron was based at Elvington when Halifax aircraft HR 714-K failed to return from night operations over Stettin. The seventh member of the crew killed was Sgt. A.P. Deighton (RAF).
