619 Squadron. Lancaster aircraft JB 123 was engaged on a trip to Berlin, Germany when it exploded in the air. The wreckage fell over a wide area in the woods near Wense, Germany. F/O5 A.B. Bearcroft (RAF), L.C. Keeling (RAF), W.C.J. Lord (RAF), and Sergeant K.W. Cheshire (RAF) were also killed. Two others of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed.
