158 Squadron (Strength In Unity). Halifax aircraft LW 261 was shot down at Grosz Lobke, Germany during daylight operations against Hanover, Germany. Six of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed. There were two 158 Sqn aircraft lost in the same area on this date also killing the following RAF airmen; Sergeants A.L. Humble, E.S. Shrimpton. N. Teasdale, R.V. Vandy, and FS H.G. Talbot (RNZAF).
