97 Squadron (Achieve Your Aim), Pathfinder Force. Target - Berlin, Germany. Lancaster aircraft JB 176 crashed one and one half mile east of the aerodrome between Caldecote and Hardwick, England. Four of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed. addendum 2: See page 277. Four RAF members of the crew, F/0. E. Thackway, Sgt.s R.A. Lawrence, J. Powell, and G. Grundy were also killed. Two other crew members, not Canadian, safe.
