158 Squadron (Strength In Unity). Halifax aircraft LW 719 was damaged by enemy fighter aircraft while over the target and the pilot made a forced landing at RAF Station, Hunsdon, England. Pilot Officer Gowans was killed during the attack and was the only casualty.
