Lancaster aircraft ME 576 was shot down at Halderstadt, Germany, thirty-two miles south-east of the target during night operations against Brunswick, Germany. Five of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed, one of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed. addendum 2: See page 269. Six RAF members of the crew, Sgt.s M.A. Brooks, A.A. Johnson, B.G.
