1651 Conversion Unit. Stirling aircraft BF 448 lost, presumed enemy action. Six RAF members of the crew, Flying Officer W.A.M. Archibald, Flight Lieutenant O.C. Chave, Sergeants J.F. Cook, J.E. Nicholls, A.A. Self and T.F. Stocks were also killed. This crew was attached to 15 Squadron for operational experience. Flight Sergeant Pilot Gladwin was buried at St Trond, Belgium, exhumed, and reburied in the War Cemetery, Heverlee, Brabant, Belgium.
