207 Squadron (Semper Paratus). Target - Chapelle, France. The crew of Lancaster aircraft ND 564 took off from RAF Station, Spilsby for a night bombing trip to Chappelle, France and was not heard from again. Pilot Officer D.R. Dearman D.F.C. (RAF), Sergeants M. O'Connor (RAF), and JE.Ni Smith (RAF) were also killed. Two others of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. One Canadian, Sergeant Smith, was either an Evader or was taken Prisoner of War.
