It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. 229 Squadron (Be Bold). Pilot Officer Foley was air testing Hurricane aircraft BE 666 and was killed when he crashed at the Kalafrana-Hal Far Road. He had been missing after a flying battle on January 28, 1942 in a Hurricane aircraft and returned uninjured to 229 Squadron on February 11, 1942.
