226 Squadron (Non Sibi Sed Patriae). Mitchell aircraft FW 163 was bombing a bridge at Venlo, Holland and was flying at 10,000 feet when the starboard engine was hit by flak. The pilot made a belly landing at Volkel, Holland, Sergeant R.A. Smith was also killed.
