166 Squadron (Tenacity). Lancaster aircraft ME 686 was shot down near Michelsrornbech, Germany during night operations against Nuremberg, Germany. There were two 166 Sqn. aircraft lost in the same area on this date. Following is a list of the RAF casualties from both aircraft; F/S(s) R.B. Fennell, A.P. Jones, J. Smyth, G.W. Trodd, P.F. Walker, F/Os P.E. Legard, D.B. McIntosh, Sergeants H. Langton, W.G.S. Pettis, G.T. Reynolds, and Flight Lieutenant G.A. Procter. This was Flight Sergeant Ferguson's second trip and his was one of 108 Allied aircraft lost this night.
