It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. The caption reads "This Stars Stripes photograph was taken on 14 September 1944 and shows a Mosquito Mk XIII of 409 Squadron RCAF. 626 Squadron (To Strike And Not To Yield). BROTHER to Mortimer John Dowd. Lancaster aircraft JB 599 was shot down at Blasheim, Germany during a night trip to Frankfurt, Germany. Sergeants C. Craigie (RAF), W.B. Dixon (RAF), C. Saunders (RAF), F/Os G.D. Kewley (RAF), T.H. Prickett (RAF), and FS C.B. Mills (RAF) were also killed.
