488 Hong Kong Squadron (En Garde). The crew of Boston aircraft BZ421 (maybe BZ481) were shot down at Hellenthal, Germany whilst attacking enemy troops in the Gemund, Rhineland area of Germany. They had just left the target when their aircraft was seen to go into a spin and explode on hitting the ground. Sergeant M.M. Cummins and FS P.C. Doherty were also killed, one Canadian, Sergeant McLaren, was taken Prisoner of War.
