51 Squadron RAF (Swift And Sure) RAF Snaith, Halifax aircraft MZ 933 shot down by a night fighter, homeward bound from operations to Bochum, Germany. The aircraft was abandoned and crashed at Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium. This was the last major raid on Bochum. FS DE Burrows CG (Belg) (RCAF), Pilot Officer L Berry (RAFVR), FS AB Cantle (RAFVR), FS EC Gunning (RAFVR) and Sergeant N Williams (RAFVR) were killed. Sergeant PC Hinchcliffe (RAFVR) and Sergeant J Davis (RAFVR) survived and returned to operations.
