158 Squadron (Strength In Unity) Halifax II W7766 NP-H was damaged by flak over Germany and crashed on return to England attempting a three engine landing in poor visibility at East Major, Yorkshire, England. Sergeant JS Anderson Sergeant WJ McAlpine, Sergeant E Bradley, Flight Sergeant AD Lewis, Sergeant HD Ellerby (RAF), Sergeant AE Surridge (RAF) and Sergeant T Campbell (RAF) were injured (R. Allenby). FS Anderson died from his injuries 1942-10-14 and was BROTHER to Lloyd George and William Boyd Anderson.
