1917-00-00: Jewitt started flight training at 1TDS, Stamford, England. When complete he was sent to Gosport to complete Flight Instructor training. He returned to 1TDS as a flight instructor until 1918, when he was assigned as a ferry pilot to ferry repaired aircraft to France. 1918-11-26: posted to 6 Issues Section, France. 1919-04-23: Jewitt was injured in DH-4, B-5505; in a mid-air collision with another aircraft (un-identified). His air-gunner, Lt John Stephen Sherren, (British) was also injured.
