1918-09-14: Johnston was missing in Camel, E-4391; when he was seen to fire a light and go down, over-turning when he hit the ground. He was made a POW and was repatriated 1918-11-28.***In WWI, flyers who's aircraft were were going down, fired a Very Light flare, if they were able, to alert their squadron-mates of the situation***
