Crane was an American citizen who came to Toronto in 1917 to enlist in the RFC, 1917-12-19: to be RFC 2nd-Lieut.
1918-05-15: Crane died in SE5, D-3957, when he turned the aircraft while in formation and and ran into Lt Leonard John Cox (British) from underneath while breaking up the formation, Pewsey, Wiltshire, England.
