1917-03-06: Mackay was OK in Sopwith Strutter A-1072; he and his air-gunner 2Lt Denys Edward Greenhow (British) were attacked by 5 hostile aircraft between Houthulst Forest and the lines while on patrol, and landed at Abeele. Mackay was OK, Greenhow died of his wounds.
