1916-12-28: Macaulay's BE force-landed in a field near Bonneville due to fog; turned on it's nose and burst into flames on a practice contact patrol. His pilot Lieut Thomas Edward Blackater (British) was not injured. Macaulay was slightly injured, but recovered.
