"A" Able flying through the Eiffel Tower? (although this event likely happened, this photograph is likely fake.) It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. The caption reads "This Stars Stripes photograph was taken on 14 September 1944 and shows a Mosquito Mk XIII of 409 Squadron RCAF. Smith was American born and was shot down and made a POW on 1918-01-12. He was repatriated on 1919-02-28. His air gunner, 2nd-Lieut James Hamilton Reid Smith (British) was killed in the crash. Thomas had just taken off when his aircraft was hit by fire from an enemy aircraft. He landed in enemy territory, just south-west of Charleroi, Belgium on a photo reconnaissance mission.
