Busk was the designer of the R.A.F. BE2 aircraft. On 1914-11-05 he was test flying the 'c' variant (BE2c) when it caught fire in mid-air on a flight at the Royal Aircraft Factory and came down at Laffans Plain (now Farnborough Airfield), near Aldershot, England. Busk was killed in the crash.
