Barlow was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire on 1890-08-27. He lived with his grandparents while growing up. He enlisted in the RFC as an Air Mechanic being raised to First Class before the outbreak of War. He died on 1914-08-11, taking off from Dover as a passenger in a 2-seat Bleriot monoplane, which crashed soon after takeoff.
