ORB 129 Sqn text:"The Squadron was on a ramrod today, escorting Mitchells and Bostons bombing gun positions in the Arnhem area and for the first time for many months encountered Huns. There were estimated 50+ FW190 and Me109s in small batches, and the Squadron attacked with more eagerness than skill as F/O Humphries and F/Lt Howard were both shot down though both are believed safe and both scored before they were clobbered. Mike Humphries destroyed a FW190 and Howard damaged a Me109"

F/O Humphries was shot down near Linge River, Angeren, Gelderland, Holland.
