27 Squadron (Quann Cellerimi Ad Astra). Target - Tangup, Burma. Beaufighter aircraft EL 453 was hit by anti-aircraft fire during a low-level attack on shipping and communications. An accompanying aircraft saw a large black cloud of smoke then an explosion in the port wing took place and pieces of the aircraft broke away. One RAF airman was also killed.
