15 Squadron (Aim Sure). Stirling aircraft W 7531 was carrying vegetables (mines) when it was lost to enemy action. Six RAF members of the crew, Flight Lieutenant N.G.R. Booth, Sergeants J.B. Butterworth, R. Nicholson, F.L. Sharp, A. Spriggs, and Squadron Leader J.C. Hall were also killed.
