1916-08-08: Ryan was OK in 4304, BE2c; crashed into the adjoining field on take off during practice around at Boisinghem.
1917-04-30: Ryan was wounded in A-6380, FE2d; during combat, on patrol at Lievin-Noreuil. He later died of his wounds on 1917-05-02 His gunner, 2Lt Benjamin Soutten (British) was also wounded.
