Wellington aircraft was returning from operations when the pilot hit some trees while attempting to land in a fog at the fighter aerodrome at Manston, England. Sergeant I.J. Green (RAF) was also killed. Addendum: Wellington aircraft W 5452 (BU-U) was returning from operations over Berlin, Germany. Sgt.s L.D. Kissack (RAF), J. Aitken (RAF), U. Green (RAF), and P/C). C.W. Ake)/ (RAF) were also killed. One member of the crew was injured.
