99 Squadron (Quisque Tenax). The crew of Liberator aircraft KH 360 completed an attack against the Burma - Siam railroad and were returning to base when they carried out a low-level attack on enemy shipping. The aircraft was probably hit by light anti-aircraft fire that was seen firing in the vicinity as the crew had to ditch in the Gulf of Martaban. Five crew members, not Canadians, were also killed. Three other crew members, not Canadians, were safe after they abandoned the aircraft and got into a dinghy. One of the crew, not Canadian, left the aircraft without a Mae West and was drowned.
