1917-08-02, killed in flying accident at 12TS, Thetford, where he was a flying instructor. His student, Major Arthur Justin Ross, lost control of the Maurice Farman Shorthorn he was piloting. The machine crashed to the ground from 300 feet before Michener could recover it, and both occupants died in the crash.
